Tribunals on Polish anti-abortion law. In 2001 and 2004 the Federation organized two tribunals which main objectives were to inform public opinion about violations of women's reproductive choices in Langenort - the ship of Women on Waves in Poland, 2003. The Federation coordinated the activities of the Committee "STER" - Women Decide (Polish partner of the project), who invited Women on Waves to Draft bill on Parental Awareness. In July 2003 the Federation prepared the draft of the bill on reproductive rights and health, which was consulted with women's NGOs and other stakeholders. It became the basis for Parliamentarian Group of Women and NGOs to work out jointly the bill on responsible parenthood which was tabled to the Parliament in 2004 and waited whole year to be considered. Despite recommendations of UN Committee on Human Rights, in 2005 the Parliament decided against the debate on changing the law. Exhibition on women's reproductive rights "My life - my decision". In 2002 the Federation organized the exhibition, which had been prepared with many partners. It focused on the rights to abortion, contraception and sex education. It also illustrated and commented the observance of these rights in "My life - My decision" Contest for the Poster. In 2002 the Federation organized the first contest for the poster to be included in the exposition on women's reproductive and sexual rights. The next contest took place in 2005. The aim of these initiatives is to promote women's right to choose through art in order to reach out to broader public. |
